Resident of the Hazeltons Since: Was born here, and after living elsewhere moved back to the Hazeltons about 8 years ago.
Favourite Vegetable Dish: Zuchini
Past Gardening Experience: Very Little. Had a family garden as a child and helped out with weeding. Tried growing flowers once but wasn't very successful.
Soil Conditions: A sunny, grassy patch surrounded by birch trees. Growing in a raised-bed.
Participating in the Garden Challenge because: Has been thinking about getting into gardening for a while. Would like to see her very own fresh vegetables come out of the garden. Would also like to see how much you can really grow and how much of a difference gardening can make in budgeting for food. In August her grandson will be visiting and she would like to introduce him to gardening.
Biggest Challenge: Probably dealing with bugs and dogs
Goals: To be able to harvest some food to use in her own cooking. Would expecially like to grow some cilantro.
